    Proposed Reorganization of

    MAG Mutual Insurance Company

    On March 17, 2017, MAG Mutual Insurance Company filed an initial proposed Reorganization Plan. If the Plan is approved by the Georgia Insurance Commissioner and MAG Mutual Insurance Company’s policyholders the Reorganization Plan would, among other things, authorize:

    • the formation of MAG Mutual Holding Company;
    • the formation of an intermediate holding company; and
    • the conversion of MAG Mutual Insurance Company from a Georgia mutual insurance company to a Georgia stock insurance company.

     More information about the proposed reorganization of MAG Mutual Insurance Company may be accessed on our website here.

    The Georgia Department of Insurance is partnering with the National Association of Insurance Commissioner (NAIC) to provide Georgians with the Life Insurance Policy Locator Tool. This new online service is designed to assist consumers in their search to find life insurance policy and annuities of a deceased person.

    Consumer requests are encrypted and secured to maintain confidentiality. Participating insurers will compare submitted requests with available policyholder information and report all matches to state insurance departments through the locator. Companies will then contact beneficiaries or their authorized representatives. To begin your search, click here.
